poem

I will go my own way

From the madness that sits on the mountain

To the fields that find me weary and weeping

I wish for great love to find me

And down here

We hope we can recognize it when it comes

Down here

We hope not to be haunted by our own impatience and insecurities

Shamed by our reasons for blaming everyone

I will go my own way

From the tumbles and the downfall

From the twilight

And the mist

From the evening and the moment that lasts

That sends a flame

Sacred and intoxicating

I will go my own way

Seeking the same madness I was hoping to evade in the rain
